Stuff to Bring

Preparing yourself for the best day ever at the World’s greatest amusement park is something a lot of guests do not really think about.  Be ready for nearly any kind of weather and situation by doing, bringing, and wearing the following things:

  • Buy your tickets and meals beforehand online or at a brick and mortar store if possible to ensure you have paid the least amount of money possible.

  • Come to the park in lightly colored clothes so that the sun doesn’t beat down on you when you wear your favorite black shirt.  Be sure your clothing is not worn loosely.  Have all your loose articles protected and secure before riding any rides, such as cell phones, wallets, jewelry, etc.

  • You may bring your own food but keep in mind you can’t take it inside the park.  All food must be left in your vehicle or at a picnic pavilion.  Remember Cedar Point cannot be held responsible for stolen or eaten food left at the pavilion.  Also a few important things to remember is that alcohol brought with you is strictly prohibited and food needed for health reasons can be brought inside the park and kept in the food office if needed.  See guest services for more information before attempting to bring any food into the park.

  • If you have long hair, put it in a braid or ponytail, especially if you will be riding rollercoasters!

  • Be sure to bring enough money with you if you are buying food or souvenirs.  Neither of these are cheap!  Bring your ID if you are fortunate enough to look under 30, when planning on purchasing alcohol inside the park.

  • Be ready for any kind of headache or nausea before coming into the park.  Bring some aspirin such as Advil, motion sickness pills like Dramamine, or anything else you may need.  If you experience side effects from motion sickness pills, stop at a local drugstore beforehand and get a pair of SeaBands.  SeaBands are two bands that go around your wrists and supply a small amount of pressure to each wrist that will virtually eliminate drowsiness and motion sickness.

  • Bring a cell phone and be sure you have the number of all the people in your party with you in case somebody gets lost.  Bring an extra battery or a charger as well.  You can rent lockers throughout the park that provide electricity for you to charge your phone.
  • Bring lots of sunscreen.  Even on days that are overcast the sun can have a nasty effect on your skin if you are exposed to long.

  • Bring a pair of sunglasses and/or a hat.

  • Bring any bathroom products you may need.

  • Bring some Ziploc baggies to store your valuables in if you plan on riding any water rides and don’t want to purchase a locker. Remember to save some money and ensure your valuables are safe, you can always get your hand stamped and take your items back to the car until you are done cooling off.

  • Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated!

  • Bring a rain poncho or extra change of clothes and a towel if rain is in the forecast or if you want to wear your same clothing and do not want too get too wet.
