Memory Monday With Alex Gillman

My Cedar Point 2014

As far as I can remember, I’ve been going to Cedar Point since I was little. I didn’t really start going a lot until 2013, when I went seven times and I thought that was a lot. This year was special for me. It was the first year that I had a Cedar Point Platinum Pass. I was so excited when I got it! Instead of seven times in 2013, I went 21 times.

This was the first year that I participated in one of Tony’s tweetups! I got many cool souvenirs from him.
About half way through the season, I joined the Coaster Crew, and had the pleasure of taking part in a few of the Millennium Walkbacks. I attended 4, but 3 of those times, it was down for mechanical.

This was the first year that I discovered the Plinko game. I spent so much money on them and won so many Front of the line passes. I saved them all for closing day!

Near the end of the season, I had the pleasure of riding Mean Streak with Henry. To be honest before I started riding Millennium, and Top Thrill Dragster, my favorite ride was Mean Streak. Henry and I rode about 30 times together, and we really got to know each other. That was a lot of fun!

This year was the first season that we ever stayed in Hotel Breakers. It is a really beautiful Hotel and we will be staying there from now on. I really enjoyed the complimentary shuttle service. The drivers were really nice. One of them, Tom, remembered my name on my first visit in May, and always called me by it. Every time I rode his shuttle he made my day!

Something really big that happened this season, was me riding Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force for the first time. Since my brother won’t go on any coasters, I had to go by myself. After I went on for the first time, I’m like, Why was I so scared? That was so much fun!!!

I made a lot of great memories this season and I hope to make many, many, many more in the near future. I hope I can meet some of you and we can ride some rides together! See you soon, maybe at Winter Chill Out? I’ll be at the 8:30 session by the way!
