Corkscrew

Corkscrew turned what was known as a normal coaster experience upside down, not once, not twice, but three times. It was the first coaster to invert riders three times over the course of the track. Corkscrew was also the first coaster to cross a midway. It did so by going through 2 corkscrews back to back over the midway, which gives riders and even park guests a unique and exciting view. Since opening Corkscrew has given over 59 million rides.

Corkscrew World Records:

  1. First roller coaster with three inversions
  2. First roller coaster to cross a midway

Fun Facts About Corkscrew:

  • First roller coaster at Cedar Point to go upside-down
  • Has three trains, but only uses two of them for better capacity
  • Built during the same time period as Revolution at Magic Mountain
  • Trains are red & white, white & blue, and blue & white because the ride debuted the year of the U.S. Bicentennial (200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence)
